International Shipping, Customs & Import Fees Policy

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING, CUSTOMS & IMPORT FEES POLICY
Karla Cosmetics proudly ships worldwide from the United Kingdom. ✨
When ordering internationally, your parcel may be subject to customs duties, import taxes (VAT/GST), brokerage fees, tariffs, handling charges, and other government-imposed fees upon arrival in your destination country.
These charges are determined by your local customs authority and courier, not by Karla Cosmetics.
As every country operates differently, we cannot predict, calculate, control or waive these charges.
WHO PAYS CUSTOMS FEES?
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, all customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, tariffs and handling charges are the responsibility of the customer (the recipient of the parcel).
Payment is often required before the parcel can be released for final delivery.
By placing an international order, you acknowledge and accept responsibility for any customs charges that may apply within your country.
CUSTOMS CLEARANCE TIMES
International parcels are subject to customs inspections and clearance procedures controlled entirely by government authorities.
Please note:
• Customs inspections cannot be expedited by Karla Cosmetics.
• Tracking updates may pause whilst customs clearance takes place.
• This is a normal part of international shipping.
• Customs clearance can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks.
• In some countries, customs processing can occasionally take up to 4–8 weeks.
A parcel undergoing customs clearance is not considered lost.
REFUNDS FOR PARCELS IN CUSTOMS
Refunds will not be issued for parcels that are:
• Awaiting customs clearance
• Held by customs authorities
• Awaiting payment of customs fees
• Awaiting import documentation from the recipient
• Still active within the courier network
Customers must allow the customs process to complete before any claim, refund request or investigation can be considered.
CUSTOMS PAYMENT NOTIFICATIONS
Most couriers will contact the recipient directly regarding customs payments.
Notifications may be sent by:
• Email
• SMS/Text Message
• Courier App Notifications
• Postal Notices
• Tracking Updates
It is the customer's responsibility to:
• Monitor tracking information
• Check email inboxes
• Check spam/junk folders
• Respond promptly to courier requests
Failure to respond to customs requests may result in delays, storage charges or return of the shipment.
INCORRECT ADDRESSES & CUSTOMS DELAYS
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address at checkout.
Incorrect or incomplete address information may result in:
• Customs delays
• Delivery delays
• Returned shipments
• Additional courier charges
• Failed delivery attempts
Karla Cosmetics cannot accept responsibility for delays caused by incorrect delivery information supplied by the customer.
REFUSED CUSTOMS CHARGES
If customs charges are refused by the recipient, the parcel may be:
• Returned to sender
• Destroyed by customs authorities
• Abandoned by the carrier
Please note:
• Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
• Return shipping charges may be deducted from any refund.
• Carrier handling fees may be deducted from any refund.
• Customs return fees may be deducted from any refund.
• Any applicable restocking or handling fees may be deducted.
Refunds can only be processed once the parcel has physically arrived back at our warehouse and has been inspected.
RETURNED PARCELS
If a parcel is returned due to:
• Unpaid customs fees
• Failure to respond to customs requests
• Incorrect address details
• Failure to collect from a pickup location
• Refusal of delivery
then any refund issued may be subject to deductions for:
• Original shipping charges
• Return shipping charges
• Carrier administration fees
• Customs handling charges
• Restocking fees
USA ORDERS 🇺🇸
For selected USA shipping services, Karla Cosmetics may cover import tariffs and customs charges on behalf of the customer.
Where applicable, this will be clearly stated at checkout.
If customs fees are covered by Karla Cosmetics, no additional payment will be required from the customer.
CANADA & OTHER INTERNATIONAL DESTINATIONS
Orders shipped to Canada and other international destinations may be subject to:
• Duties
• GST/HST
• VAT
• Brokerage fees
• Customs administration fees
These charges are not included within your order total unless specifically stated at checkout.
LOST, REFUSED OR ABANDONED SHIPMENTS
Parcels that are:
• Refused
• Abandoned
• Unclaimed
• Returned due to unpaid customs fees
• Returned due to incorrect addresses
are not automatically eligible for a full refund.
Any refund will be assessed once the parcel has been returned to our warehouse and any carrier charges have been calculated.
